Major update from MIFI and Service Canada
The Quebec government, through the Minister of Immigration, Francisation, and Integration, Ms. Christine Fréchette, has recently announced the implementation of the Electronic Application Transmission (EAT) starting December 11th. This innovation pertains to the processes of the Regular Skilled Worker Program (RSWP) and the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP).
EAT is designed to expedite and simplify the recruitment of foreign workers for Quebec employers. It allows for more flexible management of Labour Market Impact Assessments (LMIA), including the ability to start international recruitment alongside the LMIA application, even before identifying a candidate. This approach offers a significant advantage.
Employers will benefit from a digital platform for submitting applications, documents, making payments and tracking their files online. Replacing the physical Quebec Acceptance Certificates (CAQ), a CAQ attestation letter will now be available online.
This initiative aligns with the Quebec government's efforts to modernize and reduce administrative procedures, making Quebec more attractive to international skilled workers. It also comes with a personalized service offering from MIFI to assist employers in this transition.
